Parent Information

Parents - this is where you'll find lots of our 'Parent information'. From helping out at school, healthy food, lost property and contributions (donations). We cover our school policies, access for our Kindo shop, OSCAR and OSCAR holiday programme info too.

Our School Day

Our school day is from 9.00am – 2.55pm.  The first bell rings at 8.55am to allow children time to get to their classrooms.  We have three main learning blocks:

8.55am – 10.40am
11.25am – 12.50pm
1.45pm – 2.55pm

We encourage students to arrive at school between 8.30am - 8.45am so that they have time to get settled and prepare for their first lesson at 9.00am.

On the actual first day of your child starting school, you and your child should report to the school office at 8.30am to do the final enrolment paperwork!

Parents in the Classroom

Parents are always welcomed as helpers, both in the classroom and out of it, and will be directed to appropriate tasks by the class teacher.  Please note that an agreement is to be signed by each regular parent helper to ensure confidentiality.  If you would like more information, please speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Lost Property

Please clearly name all your children’s clothing; it is only lost if it is not named.  All misplaced clothing is in a bin beside the Rainbow Room.   All unclaimed lost property is regularly sent to the local opportunity shop.

Healthy Food Guidelines at Riverview School

After consulting the community and working to adhere to the information coming to us from the Ministries of Education and Health we now have healthy food guidelines in place.  Please click here to read more about the guidelines.

Contributions / Donations

For 2024, Riverview School has opted to receive additional funding from the government and, in return, we are not seeking parent donations for the additional costs of running the school.

Schools in our position can still receive any donations, should members of our community wish to give these, and these donations are still tax deductible, so we are happy to give a receipt for such contributions for this purpose.  However, such a donation would be voluntary and is not solicited by us as a school.

Policies and Procedures

SchoolDocs provides us with a comprehensive core set of policies, which have been well researched and follow the Ministry of Education National Administration Guidelines.  The policies and procedures are tailored to our school, and the school supplies specific information such as our charter, and procedures for behaviour management, reporting to parents, etc.

SchoolDocs updates, modifies, or creates policies in response to changes in legislation or Ministry guidelines, significant events, reviews/requests from schools, and regular reviewing from the SchoolDocs team.  Our Board of Trustees has the opportunity to view changes/additions and comment on them before they are implemented.  We will advise you when policies are up for review and about how you can take part in the review.
