Meet the Principal

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Riverview School website.  I trust that you will find lots of helpful information and answers to many of the questions that are common to most parents, caregivers, and visitors.

Riverview School has a growing roll, and currently has around 420 – 460 students.  We enjoy a wonderful link to our historic past, especially with Ngāti Rēhia, our local hapū, who enrich our bi-cultural partnership in so many ways.   A growing number of children come from a range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, creating a diversity that is enjoyed by all.

We have excellent classrooms, tidy and pleasant grounds, with a variety of activities and physical challenges for the children.  Much of this is due to the community support that we receive in fundraising and to the excellent commitment from students, staff, and families in making the school a place to be proud of.

Our students are at the heart of all that we do, and we enjoy celebrating their many efforts and achievements.  We are focused not only on what they do, but also on the positive and respectful manner in which they do it.  Key to this are our HEARTWISE values, which permeate all school activities, helping develop independent, responsible, and well-rounded students, with a foundation that prepares them for the future.
