Text Box: Riverview School P.T.A. Active Schools Initiative What is the Active Schools Initiative, and how does it affect my child? Why is physical activity so vital to my childs’ learning? Why does my child have trouble remembering and following instructions?’ Why does my child lean, fidget and wriggle about?’ The Riverview School P.T.A. is committed to the Active Schools initiative through Sport Northland, and has invited Karen Laurie to present a short and informative talk on how Active Movement experiences promote brain development, improve concentration, on task engagement, physical capability and co-ordination. To hear Karen, and learn more about the ‘Active Schools’ programme, please come to the Riverview School Hall Wednesday 13th August at 7.00pm. This presentation will be followed by a short PTA meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.
